Wednesday 30th August 2006 - Clun Mill to Winsford (Cheshire) After a good breakfast at Bishops Castle, I climbed the last of the hills in the border country into Shropshire. I was rewarded with a fantastic vista ahead into North Shropshire and Cheshire and the North beyond. The land ahead looked flat and inviting after my excursions and I was filled with renewed hope about completing my challenge before I descended on towards Shrewsbury. Shortly out of the town I found a great enterprising farm shop that also had a café and internet access, where I was able to send a quick email back to friends. Apart from the “secret” government nuclear bunker, Nantwich had a very interesting little museum and seemed an attractive town. I didn’t stop long, wanting to finish the ride to Winsford in daylight. Tried to no avail to find a shop selling postcards, my enquiries were met with puzzlement and amusement. I was met by a very warm welcome at the B&B, where the friendly Scottish hostess even gave me bath salts for bathing my wounds.
