Monday 28th August 2006 - Minehead to Bristol Made great progress through the Quantocks to Bridgwater, apart from being cut up by stupid overtaking caravan driver. The going continued to be good through the Somerset Levels, where I stopped for a photo before reaching Cheddar for lunch (the first of my famous cheese locations on route). Enjoyed a spectacular climb up through the Gorge, before dropping past Chew Valley Lake and the last climb before Bristol. It was a nice and relatively quiet approach into South Bristol and I soon found hostel beside the quays in the early afternoon, giving me time to hobble around the area and do a spot of site-seeing. I found a great Cinema/Pub/Internet Café opposite the hostel, where I combined the activities of drinking a fine Belgian ale in a tall glass, emailing back to my sponsors and then watching “A Scanner Darkly” (which is the best film I’ve seen for a long while).
