Saturday 26th August 2006 - Lands End to Tintagel Following a hearty breakfast, the ride along the North coast to St Ive’s was spectacular in fine weather, with rugged coastline dotted with some old tin-mine workings. The ride onto Newquay following the coast was very up and down, the painkillers seemed to be doing a reasonable job as long as I stayed in the saddle and took a steady pace. Newquay was very busy where I stopped for a quick lunch before continuing on the hilly coastal roads to Padstow. There I caught the little pedestrian ferry to Rock. From there it was a long and steady climb to Delabole before dropping into Tintagel. There I met Kate where we stayed at a great Inn called Ye Olde Malte House, with some good food and fine ale.

Brief stop at St Ives in sunshine.
